Cofem, on the way to 50 years

1973

The seed

In 1973, Daniel Fernández and M. Dolores Moreno started their business venture with the opening of an automobile spare parts and accessories shop in a warehouse in Barcelona.

1974

As a result of market research, they focused their business on fire protection, a highly innovative product at the time.

1975

They acquire offices next to the warehouse and begin to carry out the first fire protection engineering studies.

1981

They acquire the first industrial building, located in Rubí (Barcelona), in order to be able to expand production.

1982

The R&D&I department and the new electronics division are created.

1995

The second generation, in the person of Magnolia Fernández, joins the company and an exclusive export department is created; currently exporting to more than 50 countries in four continents.

1999

2nd expansion of the headquarters, from 500m2 to 1800m2, with the modernisation of the sheet metal processing workshop, incorporating an automatic cutting and embedding line.

2004

Incorporation of a new welding system with automatic robots to improve product quality.

2011

Expansion of the electronics department with the acquisition of modern complete SMD lines.

2015

Complete renovation of the facilities. Creation of 3 delegations in Valencia, Madrid and the Canary Islands, to provide better customer service.

2019

New acquisition of a manipulator robot to support the detector assembly line.

2020

The big leap. The headquarters are moved to new facilities, with more than 4000m2, located in one of the most important industrial areas of the country.
